Brisbane property market best in Australia

A recent survey by PRD Nationwide has revealed national investors rate Brisbane as the capital city with the best property investment opportunities. Forty-five per cent of respondents to the poll said Brisbane has the best investment opportunities, while Sydney accounted for only 25 per cent. Melbourne followed at 17 per cent, but all other capital cities scored very low.

It is certainly accurate to say that Brisbane has long been acknowledged as one of the best lifestyle cities in Australia, with favourable weather, relaxed lifestyle and proximity to the coast making it a great city for raising a family. As our cultural and industrial infrastructure increases, Brisbane is also becoming an increasingly attractive destination for young and established professionals. In fact, Brisbane is expected to gain about 52,000 new residents each year.

Brisbane currently offers a number of exciting opportunities to invest, including good quality and well-priced off-the-plan developments in inner city suburbs, as well as properties suitable for renovation in numerous suburbs to increase property value over a shorter timeframe.

In Brisbane's inner city suburbs, there is still a wide selection of property currently for sale below the $500,000 mark, and this situation is unheard of within 5 kms of the city centre in Sydney. For a city that is growing as quickly in population and infrastructure as Brisbane, I would say that being able to still source property so close to the city centre indeed represents excellent market value!

Currently the local housing market is offering very favourable conditions for buyers looking to enter the market, invest or upgrade.
